The theme is HOME for this Spring Members’ Exhibition.
As a Member I have four paintings in this show and have used a regular walk in my local park as my subject. Titled imaginatively, “A Walk In The Park, I, II, III and IV”, the paintings follow my walk around the various paths in the park.
Living between the sea and the South Downs, it is quite a change to spend time in a well-managed park. It really does feel like a second home and over the years I have walked my dog there many times. It is a Victorian park, full of beautiful mature trees which I enjoyed painting for this show. There continues to be challenges to its existence, often from the council who have other ideas for the open space, however a group of residents has made sure that it remains protected, for now at least.
